Hey Bernie, you mention in your description they require circlip reed retainers. Those tank are made for the flanged plastic retainer - the edge is not raised.

Good eye.
The Golden Bee does require a circlip, but the BW and Texaco will need the flanged retainer.

Cribbs,
The Venom II should be sub-$80.
Microflite,
Yeah, yeah, I know and I cheated Our "Venom" tanks will be this product anodized black:
http://coxengines.ca/product.php?productid=599&cat=44&page=1
and will require a circlip, same as our "Texaco" tanks.

Superb Bernie!
Will there be enough diffrence with the original engines on the outside? Buying 100% original engines on Ebay will get a little harder...
Dont get me wrong, I really like the new products and I am very happy that you keep Cox allive with reproducing!

Re: Cox .049 Texaco – Back Widow – Venom - Golden Bee - 8cc Tanks
I am hoping with the introduction of new comparable products that the prices for the originals decrease. Collectors may keep the prices high. I am very pleased that we will have a choice though. I myself will be more apt to pay $80 for a venom clone that I can run as opposed to a $300 one that I prob never run.

How will the Venom II price compare to the Venom 1?
I am guessing the pistons won't fly apart on the II.

Hehe, that would be nice wouldn't it.
Re: Cox .049 Texaco – Back Widow – Venom - Golden Bee - 8cc Tanks
Would be so good I wonder how they will perform compared with the original.
I suppose the problem would be finding someone mad enough to run an original venom at peak with a variety of props to get decent data lol.

Indra,
Even if they are within 1000 rpm that would be fine with me. I never really understood why Venom's are so collectable. I guess the real reason is because they only made a few. To be honest we can build an engine that is just as quick with off the shelf parts and maybe a couple mods. It isn't antique in my opinion as a space bug or olympic .15 etc. So why the hype? Like I said numbers....... Anyway the collectors can have em! I will get mine and run the snot out of it.

When I get a chance I will list the engines either today or tomorrow and you will be able to see for yourself.
The Black Widow aside, there will be enough visible differences.

You said on some of your tanks they require the circlip reed retainers, when the picture shows the kind that uses the black plastic flanged retainer.
