Cox TD haul
This arrived today. Pretty much every standard TD except the R/C versions in one lot. The Special Mk II needs special attention. Probably re-blue the cylinder on that one if I get that process ever figured out decent. The interesting one is the custom red/silver/black plastic case faux leather covering with spring hinge with the new TD .049. Looks almost like Cox promo or sales stuff. Looks too good for a homemade box. I probably paid too much as usual. Jacob knows what I paid......

Nice !! Looks like you will have some cleaning time on your hands also , I like the TD in the Box that's Unique and that one with the stunt tank hooked to it is difft. That special is going to need some help to whip back into shape , but all around not bad. getback

Re: Cox TD haul
This is what I was able to get cleaned up today. Pretty much needed plastic carb bodies on the 15's, 09's, and the .049/.051 engines. 5 of the TD .049/.051 engines are the early version with the 3 fin high compression heads, thin walled cylinders, and holes drilled on the bottom of the connecting rod for oil.
Still need some more parts for the TD .15 on the end. I need a needle, valve body and spring. Need a .09 spinner too.
Haven't looked at the Special Mk II yet or the TD .020 that needs a new tank and carb body. Another MECOA order for plastic this week.
Can probably build another TD Special .15 if I had a crankshaft and NVA.

I have one NIB. Without the boxes it may be a tough sell for him.

As long as the crankcases are numbered, Bob B. will provide the NFFS certification on request. The boxes are another story. As pointed out in other posts, the best solution is to print your own on heavy stock.

Nice load! I wouldn't mind having one of those teeny tiny engines. I've never played with any engine smaller than an 049.

Re: Cox TD haul
Yes it does have cox stamped on the rod and it faces the rear so you see that when you take out the back plate.
I was happy the way the cold bluing kit from Birchwood Casey turned out on the cylinder. The key is cleanliness when bluing. Any finger prints or smudges will show up.

Re: Cox TD haul
Yes the stamp is only on the Mk II. The previous special has a round aluminum con rod.

Re: Cox TD haul
I was wondering how you did those engines so fast!! Took me days just to get mine apart. They look great especially the Mark.
There is nothing on the wrench that fit the collet well, what do you use. I was thinking about making my own spanner wrench.
I also forgot to look at the rods orientation on the crank (yours was COX to the rear), since the piston won't rotate that might matter.
The bore in my case has the gold worn off, the engine looks to have run a lot on that carb and muffler.
All I got done so far is polish my crank!!
