Hi All,
Thought I would share some info about a 1/2A build I'm doing right now.
For a build contest on another forum, I started from plans found on outerzone.co.uk - thanks, Steve.

This should be a fairly quick build, if I don't overthink things.
Electronics as planned:
OrangeRX AR615X DSMX Receiver
Generic BEC
2S lipo
5gm servos

Engine - .020 Tee Dee

I hope to finish the plane this upcoming weekend.

Since you are going to use a glow engine, why not use a micro reciever, some of those 2 gram linear servos, or get the board that has two on the RX already with a BEC

The Orange RX micro rx can be fed 1s lipo without a BEC

The micro servos are small enough that you can go "full house" with ailerons, but that will take 2 more servos.

I CAN tell you that these tiny free flight designs converted to RC require very light wing loading and balance very similar to when they were free fight.

Great adds Phil, thank you for sharing. I saved off those links you sent. I have a mix of different micro receivers, bricks, etc. on hand. I was going on the sheer size of this plane. It is quite a bit heftier than the foamie planes out there now that use the micro bricks, and the control surfaces are heavier / bigger. That's why I had 5g servos in mind, and a 2S system for some oomph.

The wing is an interesting configuration to add ailerons. Being it is only top-sheeted I am not sure what will happen if I cut ailerons. It might become too week and / or twisty. My thinking is to get it flying 2 channel and then build a second wing - only an evening's work - with ailerons, as you suggested.
