Car Engine Conversion Driveplates

Car Engine Conversion Driveplates
After much time, driveplates are available to convert the standard car engine crankcase assembly for use with airplane-type applications. These are designed for the large diameter crankcases/crankshafts that had a tapered end and typically used with a flywheel.

Also we have the entire assembly available. The case and crankshafts are refurbished while the driveplates are new. It is being offered at the current price of $6.95 for a limited while.

Seems like the diesel runners might like this, the crank is much larger.

Stronger than a KB crank I bet. Although I think the pin is the weak link on the standard crank.
Wonder how it would fare in tach race/reed speed?
I think I have a couple of those, might go dig one up.

I have made a few of my own of these. The difficult part is getting the correct depth so the crank shaft end play is correct otherwise it can be tight or too much. I have found with used cases it took measurements to get it set for each one. If using new crank cases then no problem to mass produce these.
The crank pin can still break off. There were a couple of broken car cranks in the NMMTPA lot I bought a while back. There were some DD heads in the lot also so I suspect it was run on diesel.

Agreed on the diesel comments. They are still waaaayyyy to hard in terms of heat treating (same as the standard cranks), but I would think that they are a bit tougher.
If anyone wants to run any tests on these cranks, in whatever capacity (diesel, non-diesel, etc.) drop me a message and I will send a couple of each, all free.
