"Zoom-Spout" oiler
"Zoom-Spout" oiler
I was ISO some quality light-oil.. and perused the sewing-aisle at my local Walmart for sewing-machine oil. They stocked the 4oz. "Zoom-Spout" oiler!
I had used one of these back 25+ years ago when I worked as a maintenance-tech for a hotel. I hadn't seen these for sale anywhere since back then.. although I hadn't really searched for one. There's a non-conductive piece of tubing (spout) that pulls-out of the neck, for getting into hard-to-reach spots. I used to oil the blower-motors in the hotel's incremental-conditioners using one.
gen. info..

Re: "Zoom-Spout" oiler
Thinking outside the box roddie, I never thought of visiting the sewing machine isle.
I hope that pull-out spout works better that the one on some 3in1 oilers. They leak like the devil and I avoid them opting for the old but reliable can. They remind me of the new "safety" gas cans which are a pox on the general public.

RE:Zoom spout oiler
Three in One oil has a "Telescoping Marksman Spout" that extends out about 6 inches from the normal end of the cap.
Got the first one at the Wal-Mart sewing department and got two more at the local Pep Boys closing for $2.50 each.
It's the 4 oz. size. I was surprised that I used the first so fast so now I'll be OK for a while cheap !!
FWIW......

:lol:RE the new "safety" gas cans.. yea.. they're terrible. There's a new one I saw at Walmart which looks promising. It just has a single push-button spring/vent... (I guess..) It's a good deal more expensive too.. all because of a stupid gov't./EPA mandate.
I do have some 3-in-one products in the shop..
The little 1oz. cans are my favorite for the flight-box. I would squirt a drop or two behind the prop drive-plates on my Cox engines prior to applying my electric-starter. The can on the right is very old. It has a 1968-72 reference on it.
Re: "Zoom-Spout" oiler
One of our appliance parts houses has Zoom oilers on the counter. I bought one a while back and now it's refilled with air tool oil and lives on my work table.
I've always thought 10w sewing machine oil was probably the same product as air-tool/after-run oil

Re: "Zoom-Spout" oiler
Yes sir they do! Now.. if I only had a garage.. That little buggy of yours in the photo... with the spark plug inside it, caught my eye! I've always loved wheeled-miniatures. The Remington and German Arms books are cool too! You have a LOT of cool stuff Robert!
Regarding the P-38..... I'm at a stand-still right now. The T-33 Shooting-Star and "Flying-Blind" CEF Speed Contest models have been getting some attention. All three models need to have their controls and fuel-systems worked-out.. fitted/installed then removed for paint-prep. I'm sort of bouncing between the three.. in an effort to keep all of them close to being finished around the same time this Spring. I've also been working on some Cox engines Bob; some that you sent me.. (thank you again ) and others that I've sourced over the last few months. They all need some TLC.. and that's really the best part. I know you'd agree with me there! This past week I ordered some gaskets that I needed to rebuild them. I'm fairly confident that they will all run again.
