Congratulations  Mudhen yours is a really valuable historical relic.

I wonder if apart from the dim colored carb body and backplate that were fashioned red and later black for mass production, and the missing anodization, are there any other features of this prototype different from the stock 010 engines? Or did COX hit the nail right smack on its head with the prototype and nothing had to be changed because it was already as good and perfect as it could be?

Says "BLW Collection 2011" bottom right corner is that one of the folks that worked at the Cox company?
Is that a wood prop, if so do you know what size pitch / dia.? Perhaps it was benched tested back in the
day with that prop before the carb body cracked, any data on it?

Thanks, Mudhen for sharing your photo and garnering the win this month. That is a rare one, you certainly have a prized possession in your hands, not just any prototype but the smallest mass scale production engine at that. Also, thanks for the historical info on its creation.
