As I mentioned I have no experience with these. Questions:

Do the plastic bodies un-screw (CCW CW) or just slide off? At this point I am hesitant to force anything.

Same for the TD's NVA off the venturi? I want to use the new venture pictured as a replacement.

The .051 is toast. Literately, as a last ditch measure to get off the backplate it caught fire. The TD's and Medallions just unscrewed with moderate effort. All were in the same fire. Curious.

Plastic bodies are just pressed on, albeit, some are very tight. You may have a little luck GENTLY wiggling it back and forth, but I hate doing that personally, but have done so in the past, and moreso if you want to reuse it. Just be careful of the opening for teh venturi as it is a weak spot. I am also currently having a problem removing one of mine currently that I would like to swap with an engine in better condition just to have a nicer looking engine. However, one must be careful as to not to break it when removing, if you plan on reusing it. May also want to soak in nitro fuel to soften the castor residue most likely holding it tight. And as for the NV assy, just grip the venturi by the hex under the flared end and twist it back and forth to remove if it is tight. They are just a slide on piece. However, with yours being in a fire, something may have warped slightly making it tighter than normal. Hope this helps.

Also as I know you have a new backplate, have you tried soaking the engine with stuck kbackplate in nitro fuel for a while then used heat? Just a thought.

Thanks Chancey, I will give it a try. If no joy I will have to find a way to clean that case while protecting the plastic.

Well Bob, we are both in the same predicament. I am myself just going to carefully sand the case while protecting the plastic with tape, then using my Dremel polishing with a felt wheel and aluminum polish. As well, this is just me, I am no fan of the nipple for pressure on the side and will at that time, carefully remove it with a razor and polish that area up as well. My plastic is already repaired so no loss for me, but yours is in much better shape. Good luck with the attempt!
