That is true but the wrench part # is 1530; which is the same part # as other .049 wrenches, so it was likely designed with .049 in mind.
The are similar to the 50's and 60's wrenches but silver and with the extra cutout on one side.

Prop nut on Thermal Hopper seems to fit one of the cutouts. The other remains a puzzle.

I believe those wrenches were included with the mid 60's cars such as the Corvette Sting Ray, Buick Riviera, and Ford GT. One of the hexagonal openings was for the flywheel nut.

Cool! I have a couple of those wrenches, but never tried them on a standard glow plug.

Thanks for all the replies and that explains why we could not find those wrenches in any of our engine collection; don't have any cars here.
