This one looks genuine to my untrained eye.  Exhaust ports look right from what I know.

Seller is a decent bloke- Purchased from him before.
You folk State-side have a distinct advantage due to our AU$$, so if he will ship offshore, you might get a good deal.

Yes seems like the real deal, is the piston damaged?
Something got in the way when it was running, the
edge of the piston looks like it took the hit and the
center of the piston something has happened there
too. All the same no one in the states can bid on it.

The center sticking out on that piston is not good. It’s all hammered out. Should have been reset a quart ago.

Hopefully that's just a blob of thick oil. If I recall, the center of the piston looks consistent with the piston in my Killer Bees, having that little bump on the top.

Mine does not have a dimple with the steel showing.
Here is a closer view hard to tell whats up. Owner should
have at least used a cotton swab to clean off the goo.

I have that little dimple on some of my later production new in box engines. When I first noticed that on used engines I was worried it was hammered out by the small end of the conrod but given it appears on new pistons too there must be another reason....maybe when the piston was machined the slightly worn tool end left the dimple there just when the last layer from the piston crown was cut off?

$66 AUD Buy it Now. While that may be a reasonable deal, I can't really justify that cost when I already have so many engines I will never use.

Mario (the seller) may consider sending overseas if you ask. If anyone is really desperite for it, I can buy it on your behalf and ship it off maybe. I'll look into shipping costs.

Rod, can that damage on the piston top periphery - that Brad pointed to looking like a dent be clarified? If it really sits there I wonder if the compression is OK or the fit between piston and cylinder is too tight?

It appears to have never ran , and i would say the dye was worn when the making of the piston/rod mating process was performed ?! Huh... Eyebrows

IMO that is a 20$ engine in that condition if it has the real crank. You can get NIB for 75$ if watch go deals.

Seller tells me that, as far as he knows, the engine is all genuine. Piston & cylinder are good- just some goo built up. Says he cleaned it up after my enquiry and all is fine. He's a little reluctant to send overseas, but will do so insured with tracking.

Just bought from a UK ebayer a NIB Killer Bee made in 1995. I understand KB engines from this production year still come with the taper bore cylinder having 2 bypass ports, 1 booster per port, light KB shaft and gold anodized crankcase.

Is the piston also the lightened one?

Yes, I have checked them in the past. I have tinkered with a lot of KBs, I found even the month in 95 mattered. Early 95 was good, later 95 not so much. 96 forgetaboutit. I also found the yellow needle valve extension usually meant a real KB.

Thanks a lot! Mine is said to have been made in June 1995...just on the borderline of good and not so much. Very Happy .it is pictured with a copper needle having the large black plastic knob though..I hope at least the tapered cylinder will be there...it may take weeks before I have it even though it travels within Europe only...
