Was that frog?
I am sure Keil Kraft did one and put it on a hover craft.
rtf model and named it a diesel model engine even though it was a glow engine.

Kielcraft bought the wenmac and sold as the cobra, Frog had the same engines as DC in the glow the wasp with radial mount fitted was the frog venom

No I am sure the cobra was in fact cox based but there was a wen mac too.

AM had wenmac engines, they say made over here to wenmac designs

Does anyone know a way of mounting these so you can actually use them? I've seen a video on YouTube of someone running one, but I can't see how he has it mounted.

I know Kim strapped his down with a metal tie to a board, can't find his thread though.

I gouged out a hardwood block and used a piece of steel strap to hold it in place. Gonna do the same (with a little more finesse) for flying mount to use when I get the much-promised Q-Tee flying !

Being involved in the UK model trade for 25 years, ive seen a lot of this, i believe parts were made in the USA and maybe put together there and supplied as badged as AM , but they may have possibly been put together here as import duty on parts was lower than complete items and to anyone it would look like manufacturing here with all the boxes of parts

in the mid 90s we used to import glowplug parts from USA and assemble them here with our own supplied element as it was cheaper than buying assembled glowplugs on the import tax

This is why we now specify formulated, 100% manufactured, packaged and distributed by StarLoc adhesives on our adhesive products so people get the idea we actually manufacture them 100%

Here's my latest acquisition, OK Cub .049 B with pull starter..

I fitted a new (genuine) pullcord, only to find that the recoil spring that is supposed to pull the cord back in after starting is broken. Since I think my chances of finding a new spring, and instructions for fitting it, are probably very low, (Although I will contact OK Engines and try) it's unlikely that I'll be starting it with the cord.

Am looking to mount new Cox .049 in Wen Mac Corsair and Testors P40 RTF plastic airplanes. Presant engines are old(60's 70')w/ few parts available. Anyone done this?

I think, as we all advised you in your other thread about this, the idea of fitting Cox engines into non-Cox RTFs is really a non-starter. As several of us suggested, sort out the original engines, or replace them with better examples of the same engines
To fit a different engine would probably entail nothing less than cutting off the entire nose of the model, and somehow grafting a radial mount bulkhead in it's place, and even then there is no guarantee the models would fly properly.

i agree with wilf, dont replace the origonal engine with another brand engine, to much damage will occur when trying to mount the new other brand motor

You know there's always that challange thing/angle? We used to call it 'kit' bashing, like taking plastic model cars and putting part from one on another. Last night for fun I grabbed a basket case Wen-Mac Corsair and a Tee-Dee and with a little work and JB Weld it could be done...and you too could have a overpowered rocket.

I've got a Wen Mac Aracobra/Kingcobra that may get a Tee Dee .049 grafted to it's nose. I know it'll just be a faster "rock-on-a-string", but would like to see it fly with a bit more authority!
