                     That is the idea to make an R/C model, I have been wanting to find a kit for years but I have not been lucky enough. I saw one that was sold on worthpoint while doing a google search. The are radio equipment light enough to control the Cat cruiser and placing a .049 TD i could make it go faster also the center pod could be made removable to be able to try different powerplants.

I am sure that you could repli/fabricate the hull(s) and center-section with a power-pod for the engine.. by merely studying the pictures.

                          Thanks for the engine entry and the confidence in me, I`m trying to figure it out but an original plan would really help a lot. I have done searches everywhere and asked in a lot of forums hoping to find information but at this time I have no results. I will continue trying.

                      I have been trying to contact some modelers that might have a plan or kit but the phone numbers that I found on the internet are close to ten years old. I know that Mr.Jim Dodson have a lot of the Scientific hollow log plans and that Mr.Currell Pattie also have the hollow log plans. I had no luck using the phone numbers listed in The Michigan 2011 Musciano contest for those gentelman. If you know their email or phone number please let me know. Do you guys know of anybody who sell hollow log plans? Please let me know. I started drawing but I rather buy an original plan.

                   I followed your advice and found some pictures of floats with an engine with propeller it was really different to what I was looking for but no luck with the model I was looking for.

I decided to do something similar as I was not able to secure a set of plans. I made a drawing and have started building my version of the cat hopefully will come out well. I found a picture of the plan searching the RC groups classifieds and used it as a guide. I could not read the instructions so I made things my way. My version is going to be Radio controlled.

That's coming along nicely Juan! Did you build the fuse-jig from RCM plans? I built two of them several years ago. One is scaled down for small models.



Your jig looks very similar. I'm excited about this build. I've always loved model boats of all types. This CAT is one that I'd definitely consider building!

                       I was not aware that there were plans but I saw a photo and like is said a photo is worth a thousand words and I built one. It has helped me over the years when building built up fuselages. Here are some pics of my progress in the similar Catamaran Cruiser. The last picture is of a piece of 2 inch angle aluminum that I use to square the edges of balsa wood. On one side using 3M double sided tape I place 100 grit paper and on the other side 3 layers of wide masking tape. Sliding the wood over the masking tape against the sand paper I can square edges in the parts I make. I hold similar pieces using Dubro 2-56 servo screws. I screw them until they come out of the other side of the parts and back off until you dont feel threads sticking out that way you can slide the parts over the masking tape without damaging the tape. The balsa slides real easy over the masking tape. the screws also helped when I was doing the fuselage sides on the cat.
