Re: Why is there a #2 stamped on some Tee Dee .049/.051'S
Cox changed the crankshaft and crankcase in the early 70s. This was a way for them to differentiate between what was existing stock and new stock
The crank web thickness increased for the update. So an older crank in a new crankcase would have a excessive front end crankshaft end play. A new crank in an old crankcase would be tight when assembled.

There is data
I took some data on 10 to 12 (apps). Tee Dee and Medallion crankcase-crankshaft combinations about 7 or 8 years ago. I can’t remember the title right now, but I will npreseach a little and edit my post if I find it tonight.
Edited 4-27-2020 8:22p.m. PST. I found the data.
“ tee Dee and medallion crankcase and crankshaft data”
Exeter the above, without quotes, into the search box in the top left of screen, just below donate.
Enjoy.
