I just checked it is not that it is actually for a 4" mini dooling frog tether car.
I may build it one day it is just an aluminium casting.

You'd have to track down the gentleman who built it...
Re: Small Engine Museum
That might be the first, but the gearing, bearings, and shafts can be purchased off the shelf from any number of supply houses, and the rest of the system is pretty easy to fabricate.

Re: Small Engine Museum
Most of these converted "Cox" multi's that were made, suffer from being too heavy for practical model airplane use. They're beautiful examples of precision machining, but the gears, shafts and support bearings add a LOT of weight.. not to mention the added rotational weight and drag induced by the gears meshing. These engines in singe-cylinder form were designed to do their job at 17K+ rpm's... Gearing 2 together will decrease this number dramatically, and I would imagine it would also wear out the piston/cylinder fit prematurely because of the extra drag induced. The air/fuel mixture and quantity to each cylinder also has to be equalized.
Jason just bought a geared Cox .049 twin reedie. It's beautiful. It came with a pair of 80 TPI NVA's. I suggested replacing them with 124TPI fine-thread NVA's to make it easier to synchronize the 2 cylinders, if he decides to run it.

We have a expo show that my son and I attend known as Cabin Fever. Usually held in January this year it's held in April. Looking through some of the video above I came across this video on You Tube. I witnessed this fellow run all of the engine's he had on his table. The Harley Panhead was over the top cool. I believe he told me his father had built these running models. The sound they made just put a smile on your face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGXHMAic2O4 Ken
