McCoy 35 blue head
A friend have me this engine a while ago. I was checking it out and it seems the piston is seized in the cyl. Are these worth repairing? Are there Parts available? Where?
Thank you in advance

Re: McCoy 35 blue head
Tim, is it seized from running friction or is it seized from just sitting? The Mccoy engine series the red head and the blue heads were a very inexpensive disposable engine line. The metallurgy was on the inexpensive side which led to many early failures. It was just as easy to purchase another and go play. There are no parts available for these engines. Finding a donor would be the most recommended advice. The blue heads were usually r/c and the red heads were control line, either or swaps out to each other. These engine used fiber gaskets at the base and cylinder head which are not reusable however they can be sourced. They also require a fuel with a oil content of at least 25% all castor.

Re: McCoy 35 blue head
Ya...most of these old engines are stuck from old castor oil that has dried and hardened. Heat and solvents will free them up.
