Enya .049 / .06 / .08 and .10 ---- made for Japan (family).
Enya .049 / .06 / .08 and .10 ---- made for Japan (family).
I almost have the complete family of Enyas:
049 rear induction / 049-II (series #1/2/3/4 -- venturi - T.V. differences)
06 rear induction / 06-II (series #1/2/3/4 -- venturi - T.V. differences)
06D (diesel) rear induction / 06-II (series #1/2/3/4 -- venturi -T.V. differences)
08-II (series #1/2/3/4 -- venturi - T.V differences)
10-II (series #1/2/3/4 -- venturi - T.V. differences)
I do have a few gaps in the collection but am working on that.
I have been acquiring them since 2003 when I learned of these little gems. Still acquiring more of them!
First ones were (one) 06-II T.V (glow) and the other was (one) 06D-II T.V. (diesel) from Model Flight in Australia (in 8/8/2004).
Still have the sales receipt with the engines.
Acquired more of the little Enyas from a hobby shop in Singapore and diesel engines from Carlson Imports.
[/b]
Enya 049 reed:
Enya 049-II series #2 (tilted forward venturi) series 1 has square venturi. (need to photograph that engine yet)
Enya 049-II series #4 (tilted forward T.V.) series 3 - venturi close to cylinder head.(need to photograph that engine yet as well.)
Enya 06 reed (glow) just recently refurbished:
Enya 06D (diesel):
Enya 06-II (glow):
series #1 engine with square venturi:
series #2 engine with round venturi:
series #3 engine
with T.V. close to cylinder head:
N/A ----need to photograph yet
series #4 engine -- T.V. (angled for muffler)
Enya 06D-II is the same as the glow engines:
series #1
series #2
I do not have (yet) a series #3 engine - T.V.
series #4 T.V. (tilted forward for muffler)
Enya 08:
I have not yet acquired a series #1 or series #2 engine (but still looking)
series #3 T.V. (straight up close to cylinder head.)
series #4 T.V. (for muffler)
Enya 10:
Series #1 (square venturi)
Series #2 ---- have not acquired an engine yet.
Series #3 (venturi close to cylinder head) -- recently refurbished:
Series #4 ---- have not acquired an engine yet.
But one is on its way!
I am also trying to acquire the missing parts for the engines as well.
Like missing starter springs, mufflers, rear engine mounts (reed engines), brochures, etc.
I have been able in the last three years to acquire (bid) on some of these engine on a Japan bidding site.
Trying to get mufflers and other parts are tough to get.
I would like to thank Ken Enya for his help on getting some of the history on these engines.
I have an addition to the Enya 08 line.
I have just acquired an Enya 08 series #4 (new in box with muffler) from Italy for 130.00 Euros (includes shipping).
One down and a few more to go?

Just a collection of parts. Unless you have a hole bunch of other collection of parts, this is useless.
And shipping the used parts to the US not worth it. Probably why he won't ship to the USA.
I just sent some Cox engine parts to Australia (my 2 Aussie friends) & shipping the parts (package) was $27.18 (just under 1Lb.)
Parts to refurbish their Cox engines. (Parts I already had.)

Nice collection of premier small displacement Enya's sosam and it's intelligent to specialize. Over the years Enya made so many engines and varieties thereof it would be difficult to collect them all but I have made a significant effort.
I would think that you have a copy of Bob Allan's Compendium and his supplements. I keep mine printed out in a loose leaf binder and keep in touch with the guy for the latest updates. I have a few of Bob's cast-offs, and some of Ted Coulson's NIB specials, but many of mine were ebay beaters little more than a gob of distilled castor and dirt. Those I enjoy the most.

That .049 II would be perfect on my latest build! I am becoming quite enamored with the Enya engines! Have a couple of .35's that were gifted to me. One is going on my next project! ...which at my present rate of building is going to be awhile!!

Yes I have Bob Allan's Compendium.
Though it does not go into great detail about "all" the variations of the Enya engines.
Like the small Enya 049/06/08 and 10 -- series #1 (sq. venturi) , series #2 (round venturi), series #3 (T.V. close to cylinder head) and series #4 (T.V. slanted to accept muffler).
It give a good overview of the developments of the different engines over the years and the engine tests that were done.
I don't have the latest update from of Bob Allan's Compendium.
I've been scouring the globe to get the small Enya engines.
I Japan, they come up on the Japan auction site like Cox engines pop up on *Bay in the states.
It is hard to get the engines shipped to the US because "engines" are prohibited from international shipping.
Something to do with the word "engine" which they think it has gasoline and oil in it and that is hazardous to ship in a plane.
I have a Japanese friend I met years ago (from work) and I have the "engines" shipped to him.
Then he ships the model airplane "motor" to me. I pay him through PayPal.
The explanation is longer than that but that is the jest of it.
Shtterman was interested and I did the full explanation to him and he though of it as too much work.
But, if you want those little gems, you have to jump through a few hoops?

"Parts" is the magic word, as in model engine parts, model airplane parts, etc. Never had a problem incoming or outgoing.
Get them all together, snap a picture.

Probably next year, this coming summer.
I'll take a "family" photo of them all on a table.
Too bad I can't have that photo for "Engine of the Month" after I take it?

Re: Enya .049 / .06 / .08 and .10 ---- made for Japan (family).
Well, I got together the "family" of Enya .06-II engines photographed.
This is "one" (of four) of my complete sets of Enya .06-II engines.
Took them out of their boxes for the photo:
Will do the same for all of the others (.049 and .06 glow &.06 diesel Rear Induction / .049 / .06 Diesel / .08 and .10) (one day)
As for now, here is Series of Enya .06-II engines:
As you can see, Series #3 does not have a muffler (silencer) because of the way the T.V. (throttle valve - carb.)
is not tilted forward like the others to accept the muffler.
The throttle lever ( when new from Enya) is straight like it is on Series #4.
There are instructions included with the engine (the ones from Japan) that gives you instructions
on how to bend the throttle lever like you see in Series #3 engine.

Re: Enya .049 / .06 / .08 and .10 ---- made for Japan (family).
Well, yesterday I got all of my Enya Rear Induction engines (.049 / .06 and .06 diesels) and took photos of them.
Enya .049 Rear Induction Engines:
Enya .06 Rear Induction Engines:
(Glow and Diesel and one Glow and one Diesel engine with throttle valve):
Only one I am missing (so far) is an Enya .049 throttle valve engine.
All I have left to do now is to take photos of the .049-II series, the .08 series, and the .10 series.
