Yes! Got that one, read that one. After searching for what seemed like years, I finally found a copy. Now you’re offering Two! Someone should snap it up, just to have a hard copy!
The one I am “in search of” now is An Old Buzzard goes Soaring, or something like that by Dave Thornburg.
Here’s a picture of the cover:

Re: Vintage Book: 8 easy projects for 1/2A engines
The books by the original poster are great books to have! Even if they are available for down load here. Nothing like having the real deal.
And hey Kim! If you like reading Dave Thornburgh, you must have the "Old Buzzards Soaring book" It's a collection of articles he wrote for Model Builder Magazine. I don't know what the other guys got their shorts in bind about it, as I thought it was well written for what is was for, as an introduction to hand launched gliders and thermal soaring. It is a hard thing to fins because it is such a good book.
The only thing better than that book, is Thornburgh's "Do You Speak Model Airplane" It is even more difficult to find and I have seen copies of it go for big bucks at the usual places. You have to be very vigilant to find copies of either book at reasonable prices, but they are out there. I had wanted a copy "Speak" at the time Dave published it but kept putting it off. Then one day the urge just hit me to call the number in the magazines for it, and talked too Dave himself. He said he only had one copy left, and I got it! I had him autograph it as such also. Great guy and great modeler.
Type at you later,
Dan McEntee

8 Easy projects for 1/2a engines.
This book was written by the legendary Ken Willard (1912 - 1993) in 1985. Ken Willard was inducted into the AMA and Free Flight Halls of Fame. He flew Controline, Free Flight, and R/C. He invented several things and designed many models in all 3 events.
In the back of the book, Ken included 13 useful addresses to buy modeling stuff. Sadly, only 2 of them are left. SIG and ACE R/C.
If you want a great shock, google ace R/C and look at the prices on the controline kits.

Defill3 - Did you get a hardcopy of Kens book?? You must have if you’ve read the list in the back of the book! For others who might want to look, go here:

Hello De;
That is not the original ACE R/C that was in Higgensville. MO. I used to attend a R/C sailplane contest in Higgensville that ACE sponsored and put on and got to know those guys pretty well. Tom Runge, Paul Holsten, Steve Kaluf, Steve Gooseman and Red Costlow and the rest of the gang. Oddly enough, it was at an early ACE contest there that I first met Mike Gretz and Mike Pratt! We had a ball talking about old models and model aviation history. ACE R/C was sold to the Chinese firm Thunder Tiger and was moved to Las Vegas I think it was in the 1990's, and since then I think Thunder Tiger has folded or been bought up. And now that I think about it, I met Jim VanLoo at an ACE contest!! That was right before I evolved into C/L stunt.
So, out of all those vendors, SIG is the last of the Mohicans.
