I picked this up yesterday. I've always wanted one of these and I had the opportunity to buy a new one a few years back. This one seems like low time, good compression, a few chips on the case but other than the grime and dirt it looks like it was preserved in time. The timer on the back is in good shape and moves smoothly and it's all intact. I also have the coil made for this engine as it has two high tension leads. What I don't have is the wiring diagram for this setup. If someone has some input on the wiring, I'm all ears. Viking 65 Dscn3069

My guess is that both cylinder plugs fire at the same time if both are at TDC at the same time. Then, with each of the high tension leads from the secondary connected to each plug, the other end of the high tension coils are grounded. The primary, the points are connected in series with the battery to one end of the coil primary. The other side is grounded. You may also have a capacitor across the points to reduce arcing.

Anyway, it seems that it would be set up similar to a single cylinder ignition engine, except that you have two secondary coils wound over the primary. Points closed build a magnetic field in the primary, points open collapses the magnetic field in the primary, causing a current to be induced into both secondary winding, firing both plugs.

This may help scroll through to what you don't already know , I looked for the Viking 65 paper work and even twin cly. sparky wiring . If you see one for sale maybe they will have the original paperwork and would bee kind enough to make a copy ? https://adriansmodelaeroengines.com/catalog/main.php?cat_id=182
