I thought I would post some pictures of my latest project. It's just a kit build from an old Micro Models kit. I am planning to use a Pee Wee .020 with a non-tank backing plate. 2/3 Request 112

The backing plate is from Cox International. I believe it uses a .049 spraybar and needle valve. The spraybar is pressed into the molded plastic reed holder. The wingspan on this model is 30 inches. That would make the original model around about 46 inches.2/3 Request 113

Flies real nice. I used a couple of number 2 washers to give it some right-hand turn under power. It has just a touch of right-hand glide. It's kind of a slow flier.

I could see someone converting it in to a Electric 2 or 3 channel park flyer. I think would make a good first RC model. Smile

Hi bsadonkill,
Nice model airplane ! I like model airplanes that look like model airplanes ! Smile
Nice FF field... Cool
-I like the fuel tank, simple is best...
-clear yellow wing covering, is awesome in the sun. Hard with less light.
How much does it weigh ?
~15yrs ago, Dad built his elec versions of Buzzard Bombshells. Very similar to your Ruffy.
-the 36in span weighs 13oz, 24in one, 7oz. Elec RET r/c.
-they do fly nice.
-I like getting them up there, setting the trims, and watching them FF as long as I can...
-Then able to land back on the field ! Laughing
Don't ask me about the old elec setups. I just charge and fly. 20min timer, then land. Smile
The smaller one has a longer nose/batt fwd/ less nose weight. A 'Turbo' look ! Smile
There are allot of cool old FF designs...
Take care,
Have fun,
Dave
