Not bad.  No wrinkles that I can see.  Complete except for windshields which I can replicate.

What it's all about.  Three line system.  Hope to remove and clean the engine, replace and run before I attempt any kind of restoration.  But, oh, oh.  No rubber band.

"Wing may have been glued on."  An understatement.

I noticed Kim that your ST has a different rubber band wing attachment than mine. Mine has the more traditional Cox Corsair system where the rubber band is positioned and constrained by slits in the lower cowling, while yours has pegs molded into the fuselage.

Yeah, it's rather amazing that I was able to get those rubberbands hooked up and threaded through all that mess around the bellcrank...but I DID get it to work.

In those early days, an actual, operating throttle was a big deal.  The biggest drawback for me was the tiny size of its wheels.  Too small for the loose dirt on the ball field, about the only place they'd work was on the smooth black top of the main street of Olmsted (the same location of the demise of my Wen Mac "Aracobra" several years before  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy !).

I'd set up on the gravel edge of the street, wait for traffic to pass, then hurriedly start and launch across the asphalt.  There was added excitement and suspense as I'd often have to walk my circle out over the rough gravel for passing cars, then return to the street for landing or taxiing.

The pegs of the tiny wheels were prone to breaking, and in those days, I didn't have the tools or know-how to fix them.  Luckily "Hop Johnson's Radio & TV Repair" (with a hobby shop on the side) would order replacements from Cox, and I went through several sets.

The picture I posted (above) was an early one.  I have since learned to position that rubber band as Cox intended with it inside the cutouts.  Much better.

In addition to the Corsair style rubber band arraingement, on the ST they added posts inside the cowl that reduce the stress.

I'm not sure which style the ST coming has, posts or slits.

You’ll enjoy playing with the throttle on the new one Bob… They are able to work surprisingly well…..I like the black display board you made for the first one…. Maybe after you rehab #2 it’s doing a fly over in front of #1 (hanging from the ceiling)?…. Whatever you come up with will nice… And appropriate as well…. My only Cox .020 plastic from back in the day was the green Little Stinker type biplane I got for 12th birthday…. Still have the engine from it …. I’ll put him to work one of these days …. Have fun with the restore Very Happy

Thanks Robert, usualy I like the model to be the focus, the narrow mount of my others with uprights.  But with Kim's gifted handle and Levents large Cox Engine Forum decal it required something bigger, and thanks to your suggestion it works very well.

Fits in with my others too.

I do have that empty space above the propeller.  Smile

I certainly don't have one of those Pee Wee powered Cox ready-to-fly's,

But an option would be for one to roll their own Pee Wee powered C/L plane.

Paul Del Gatto in the 1960's designed the 17 inch span profile SNJ6 Harvard (T-6 Texan), F4U Corsair, and I think the Japanese Zero all for Pee Wee power.

Walt Musciano in his book about building and flying model planes had a Pee Wee powered 12 inch span Fokker DR1Triplane with built up fuselage and wings.

Keith Laumer in his book had plans for a Pee Wee powered 22 inch full fuselage with built up wing called the Flea Whiz https://outerzone.co.uk/books/display_chapter.asp?book=4&chapter=11

but resembled a Shoestring Racer without the engine cheek cowls.

It wasn't me although I did look at it. One of my regular ebay checks. To new, too perfect, just another to sit on a shelf untouched. We're it a crashed mess of castor goo at a quarter of the price or less, maybe.

GG,

Was this your work? The plan page indicates "Ghostler" had some input. It sure is cute:
https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=834

Maybe after the dust is brushed off the pile of in-completes in the Hobby Closet. Sigh!

I could have merged the pages into one, can't remember, was 11 years ago.

The free flight 30 inch span Push-Up plan https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=664 was my work.

Cox Ryan ST 2.0 66410
Outerzone Push Up plan thumbnail.

I merged the pages into a convenient single plan page, added the isometric details drawing from another page for clarity, mirrored the half views of the fuselage top view, elevator and landing gear to make them complete. Did pixel editing to make the mirroring look like it was originally done that way. Merged the clipped off top of the rudder to make it whole. Scaled it to full as it was reduced to fit the book.

I shipped it off as a complete graphic pixel file, Steve at Outerzone spun it into a PDF. An unfulfilled dream, I hoped to enlarge it 2X to 60 inches as an R/C, use say .10 to .15 power.

Still remains a dream. Clean my glasses Old Bugger Popcorn
