I have seen another version of that plane/car. It did not have the twin boom and was way less bulky. These are neat though.

I seen the repainted orange version that is at the longview/kelso air port take to the skys a few years ago at a airshow here. As soon as he lifted off, one of the cylinders went lean and it started trailing black smoke. the pilot did a quick abort and brought the thing back down safely. White faced and shaking when he crawled out.
