Gonna mix my own..........
Gonna mix my own..........
Just bought a quart of PowerMaster 30% heli fuel 23% oil 2/3 synthetic 1/3 AA Castor. I have some Sig Castor that I would like to add to bump up the Castor%
Anybody good at math and can provide a quick formula on how much Castor to add? I am a math nimrod and the fuel will likely go stale before I figure it out.

Here is a link to our fuel guide:
http://coxengines.ca/files/FG.pdf
At the bottom of page one is a link to a castor oil calculator where you can plunk in all the #'s and it will calculate required quantity of castor oil.

Re: Gonna mix my own..........
By the same token that is already a high oil content and you would be better off getting same fuel with 8-10% oil content (synthetic) and adding castor to that.

Thanks Bernie, I was wondering about the oil content already being 23% I was trying to find a fuel that had enough Nitro to begin with as adding oil will drop the %.
I will plug in the numbers at the link and see what happens.

Re: Gonna mix my own..........
Don't even get me started..... You shouldn't pay more to fuel your toy plane than to drive your car.
I paid 8 bucks and change for a quart of this stuff with no shipping costs. I won't pay $10 a quart and another $10 to ship.........asinine!
Rant over

Re: Gonna mix my own..........
Well bless me I didn't realise you guys had smaller (16oz) pints as well.
It must be depressing buying beer over there.
Seriously tho Ron whatever you do, try and get the freshest fuel you can lay your hands on.
Just occaisionally I stumble across 'little gems' this side of the pond. ..
I'm pretty sure my recent excellent RPMs with the KB2 and Kbstd were more to do with the
fact that the fuel was made the morning I picked it up from the manufacturer than any
skill on my part.
The flip side of this coin was me spending from November last year to this March faffing around
with stale fuel. I'm not suggesting that all LHS's have fuel that they got in stock when we were all in
short trousers but you get the drift.
