They are also almost all missing the parachute cover.
I had one back in the 90's, my uncle gave it to me. It was no show queen tho, pretty beat up.

The tanks were quite problematic. They were pressed together with what seemed to be a styrene type plastic which the nipples consistently broke off of not to mention they leaked consistently. The glue would fail and the tank was now useless. It seems that nothing works well to glue the types of plastics Cox used. Friction held the tank which due to vibration within the housing that held it also mandated failure not to mention it popping out. I made many tanks from Perfect tanks to use them. Ken

Re: Cox Pinto Funny Car
There is a guy on eBay that is reproducing the fuel tanks for many of the Cox cars and also the snowmobile, they're selling like hotcakes and I would suggest buying some. They are 3D printed and work very well and last a long time. Off the top of my head I don't recall the exact properties of the material he's using but I'm sure if you email him or check his auctions there would be an indication. I had one of his dune blaster fuel tanks in my dune blaster the last edition of the dune buggy and it literally lasted a year before any of the nipples broke off. And of course you can always use a vintage perfect metal fuel tank which I have experimented with in the last 20 years. I now have a clear nylon Cox GTP RC car fuel tank in my dune blaster
