Hi I remember you asking about sealing the cox car mufflers and I just found this out never tried it you may want to as it may seal the mufflers .
See photo:
I found that the gray .049 backplate gaskets fit the muffler darn near perfect I am guessing one on each side will make a good seal?

I was a few weeks off due to other projects. I guess that could work. I am using another type of muffler but I will try this too.

these gaskets are not the thin stock ones they are the thick ones that come on the .049 back plates that are grey you buy new
like the one here on my car

looks like you can try putting one on the bottom and top of the muffler should seal it on the sleeve stopping gunk from coming out.
