So based on my measurements I ordered a 9/16- 40 tap and die set. That IS the correct thread for the head on the Wen-Mac / Testors / McCoy engines, I can now make a head that will use a standard glow plug. M14-.75 will also work to three threads.

Wen Mac parts Help Empty AMF Wen-Mac parts or help

Post  goody Thu Nov 14, 2013 9:54 pm

Sure, I have several good glow heads don't want to destroy one of those, and the bad head I have is too dinged up to use, the seal lip is cracked.

But what fun is it to drill and tap a head, much more fun to make one so I can mess with the compression. My hope is to build a 2 cylinder engine using a couple of old Wen-Mac heads, pistons, and cylinders, on a redesigned crank and block. I have the tools so no biggie, just the time to play, I have other projects in the works first, and about 6 weeks before I go back to work, part time.

You wouldn't happen to still have those Wen Mac parts, by any chance? I was given an engine, but its plastic parts are broken.

On the "me, too" side, I'm on the lookout for a Wen-Mac .049 piston and rod.  I took a wild chance and bought a $5.00 Wen-Mac .049 off of eBay a while back, and it's in great condition.  Except, it didn't have the piston in it.  So, I'm biding my time until one comes across my path.

Don't do that. Take the time you need to grieve, come back to us when you feel up to it. Time will heal things to a point where you will feel better.

Maybe this forum might be the distraction you need right now?

Hang in there man! We are all pulling for you. Myself I am praying for you.
