When I click on my YouTube name, I get THIS card, which goes nowhere:

My problems started when I opened a Gmail account, they gave me a new You Tube account and wanted me to change my name.
I have trouble logging in to my old You Tube account, I can't merge the two accounts because they have different email addresses.
You Tube needs Flash Player, Vimeo does not. Flash Player is flawed software that needs constant updates and is not needed anymore.

Gonna give it a try. As long as I can still post videos here, that will be fine, as you guys are really the only ones I care about, video-wise, anyway !

I was fiddling with Yputube a few nights ago. I like that I can choose more of what videos to list on my channel, but haven't been hit with the name thing yet. I'll check it out today and see.

Rusty, a.k.a. Rusty K or Rastus10 on Youtube. Both of those are old and point to the same channel.

Yeah...gonna sign up for the other one, and maybe sit on this deal for a while. Perhaps they'll back off of it...or not. There's ALWAYS some other way to do this stuff.

You're probably right about the money thing Dave, but I'm not on a level that allows me to understand ticking off your customers as a profitable thing.

I'd like to see the trolls ditched (some of the reasoning), but clobbering everyone else just seems a little idiotic...

I apparently used "Rusty K" as the real name for my existing tube account when I got Gmail. That's been some time ago now. I notice if I'm logged into Google I can access my videos directly from there. The other day I made sure I was unchecked for all social networking options. It can get confusing enough to be irritating, as they trick you into being a part of all that junk. I did notice that the restriction for viewing my "Stooge Dance" video was lifted for mobile devices. But you can't see it good enough to tell what's going on with the largest phone screen.

When prompted to combine your Google accounts just check 'nope'.

Even when you've gone 'too far' you can still 'check' your user name rather than your email
or real 'handle'.
They are making it more tricky tho.

Remember, when Apple, Google etc etc ask you to 'update' (even new operating systems you never
knew you needed) it's usually to either cover their backsides or because they want something more from YOU, rather than giving YOU something better.

I'm still using IOS 5 on my Iphone, my son who has stupidly (in my opinion) downloaded IOS7

Well I am an idiot too John. Thing is I had zero problems with it. Some nice features as well. Takes a bit getting used to the different looking graphics though.

Have you managed to upload a vid to you tube from your phone recently Ron?
If not you'll prob have the '2 stage' login process to get past first.

Just logged in to my you tube and I have three vids from 3 or so years back
that allegedly infringe some copyright, odd really cos it's just some super
good looking bloke flying a toy aeroplane, no music, nuffin.

BUT
Guess who's invited me to challenge 'infringement' by giving my real name.
For some reason they don't like not knowing who we all are.
 

Well, guess there's always DVD-by-Snail Mail...not nearly as efficient, but I can share the "forbidden" videos I have that have been set to music....

Not sure WHAT changed, but I can now, apparently, keep using my YouTube name, "wintersportster". While attempting to reply to a comment, I found myself on a page that asked me simply, "Do you want to use "wintersportster" on all your Google accounts?" I bit my lip and checked yes...so we'll see...

I'm gonna throw together a "Test Video" to see if they'll let it load.
