Cox Engine of The Month
I don't think it worked.

I don't think it worked.
I didn't feel like doing any building this week, so I decided to spend the evenings tackling some engines from my bin of gunked up and seized eBay engines. I concentrated on Pee Wees, and got them all nice and gunk free, turning quite freely. Used up all but one of my reeds, and all but four of my crankcase gaskets. Had to put an order in to Bernie. Out of ten eBay .020 engines I've acquired, only one had a bad glow plug! This one is interesting, though. It was turning quite freely, but I doubt the previous owner was able to get it to run. What do Y'all think?

That one must have a bucket load of SPI.

I think that there is a notch in the venturi, if I remember correctly, so it should get air that way too.
But one hole in the center would have been easier...

You however have a somewhat rare slotted screen 020 cylinder. That is definitely a keeper.

Hmmm... not quite that rare. Seven of the ten I have are the slotted cylinder types. Just lucky I guess...
The end of the venturi is slotted. But this one has no gap between the firewall and the back of the mount, so no air can get in anyway.

I was thinking that the four holes in the wood should be enough to let air pass through to the slots in the venturi...?
