It's the head I've heard referred to as a 5 fin glow head and decorative fin glowhead. Introduced in 1956 and phased out by 57 to cut costs. I believe it's a 302-A.

I could be mistaken, but I think Space Hoppers were made from 1959-1961

Those heads are a bit hard to find though. I've only got two in my whole collection. If you're looking for one, best bet is an early babe bee. I see them all the time now since I know what to look for. Just got one myself on one.

I think the above thread covers it all, according to Mud the Space Hopper had both non-stamped and #1 stamped cylinders, but I'm not sure when they went to the #1 stamp, probably toward the end of production.
