From 1972, here is my Midwest Lil' T sailplane with a Medallion .049 power pod. I used the Competition Models (I think) black aluminum tank that screwed onto the engine in place of the rear cover. I just used rudder and elevator, no throttle. It was a splendid combination, hours and hours of flying fun with only minutes and minutes of engine running.

I've never seen one of that type fuel tank. I have seen pictures of a red plastic one, but I don't think it screwed into the back of the crankcase. But the freeflight crowd has always thought up interesting configurations.

It's great to hear form another Lil' T pilot!

I also added elevator control and let it's assorted Cox engines take it to altitude---as you so well described: "hours and hours of flying fun with only minutes and minutes of engine running' !!!!
