Sad Tower Discontinues CL 25LA-S and 46LA-S

Post  GallopingGhostler Wed Apr 08, 2015 11:19 am

Yesterday after hearing the news on Stunt Hangar for the 25LA-S was also surprised to see Tower Hobbies has discontinued the OS Max 46LA-S, too. Their Super Tigre CL engines still show, but they have been on "Order Pending" status for a very long time. They still sell the Nobler and Flite Streak ARF's, but not sure how long that wil continue. Sad

Tower hobbies is very trendy when it comes to their product line. I don't know why any would be surprised of the discontinuation of any of their products. The first thing they do is raise the price. This is very typical of Tower Hobbies. They did this a little over a year ago. I have serious doubts of seeing a replacement engine come available.

I think they are a high volume marketeer. When sales volume drops below a certain level, even though there are sales, they discontinue the item. No local model hobby shop would be able to operate this way, they'd be out of business.
Not truth just speculation, Tired w/ Coffee Read but probably not far from the truth. Popcorn
