Hi there!

I found a boxed never used Cox Corsair F2G-I model 7500 last year.
Does anyone know how old it is?

There is an unopned can with fuel, stickers, manual in Danish and one in English along with a few other things.

One wiki described the Corsair is from 1968. Cox has produced at least two Corsair models. The engine in mine is on its side. The wing is attached with a screw and not with rubber bands.

Peter,

navigate to this site with lots of genuine COX annual catalogues where you will probably find the version you have, and can guestimate the vintage year it was born:

You can also check out the cox model data base on Martin Hepperle's web site

Martin Hepperle's COX ENGINES Documents and Paperwork
Link http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/cox_frameset.htm

#7500 corsair produced 1968 - 78, first version had sideways engine.

If the one pictured as your avatar is it, it's an early one. One of the easiest ID's is that the spinner is a silver colored, Cox changed it to red after a year or two. Also the first two years had the bellcrank on bottom of the wing.

Welcome to the forum Peter! What a great find! Interesting that the box states "less accessories". It looks like most everything needed was added. Is there a Cox handle with it? The Dutch instructions have me wondering if this particular model has some international history. What brand is the fuel? It doesn't look like any of the Cox fuel cans that I remember. I'm just curious.. did the previous owner know anything more about where it came from?

Very nice, that's a first run (c. 1968-'69) also forgot to mention on the first version the finish was kind of a matt finish, not glossy. That would be a shame to gas that one up.

there is a green handle. The fuel can is labled Cox. Fuel can is full - never opened.

Sometimes the instruction sheets have notes in the footer like Litho 79....this indicates the date of printing and also the year before which the product was surely not made...

It is a Thimble Drome fuel can. This would be the can with the Plane up top and the race car and boat. That's the back side of the can . It has a safety paper label wrapped around it. Ken
