Looks like a "space bug Jr." to me. Missing needle valve. Looks like a good one to start your collection. Surprised

Looks like a pretty nice engine, no plier marks and would clean up nice. I'd guess and say it was attached to a TD-3 at one time as firewall is still there. The glowplug is also original type.

i know K&B sold those stamped aluminum props, but i wonder if they actually made them or were they made by another company, they seemed pretty common in the early/mid 50's?

The L'il Rocket Mud linked to looks to be just free tethered.

No sign of any controls. Must be either 'round the pole or single line thether, which would make standing in the circle spinning around for nothing really boring.

Yep, it's like the O.K. Cub 'Trainer', comes with a high tech 'stick', to make the plane rise you lift stick, to lower, you lower, figure eight or cloverleaf, idk?
