Re: Fox .35 Modifications
I would HIGHLY recommend that you don't remove the wrist pin clips unless absolutely necessary. If you do remove them, you do it in a clear plastic bag working inside the bag. The clip will pop off and stay in the bag. You also must have a eye loupe magnifier. When reinstalling, I make 100% certain it's engaged and I keep the leg of the clip vertical. If the clip comes out and it will come out if not installed correctly, it instantly ruins the engine. The older Fox's used the brass end pads. The wrist pin was hollow, the brass rivets are pressed into the wrist pin. I don't like these, they do work but they also do wear the cylinder over time.
The big problem with the Fox .35 is that the connecting rod is a POS. It had no bushings top or bottom. Brian Gardner's setups do. That leaves the crankshaft which is also the weak link.

Re: Fox .35 Modifications
Hey Ken yea I can tell those clips are probably impossible for me to put back on once I taken them off , but the other wrist pin with the brass the rivets must have piped out because nothing is stopping the pin from sliding out sooo I just slid the piston in the sleeve and left it go at that. Probably wear a nice grove inside the sleave. I don’t know what else to do. Thanks

Sounds like that Fox has a lot of time on it. Drilling the old rivet out might be necessary. Finding another rivet to go into the wrist pin. Making some from Teflon or Delrin is better. This may require the wrist pin to be shortened slightly.

Re: Fox .35 Modifications
Are you using a laptop / desktop computer, or tablet/cellphone? My instructions are for the desktop / laptop. Here, I am using the forum's "Code" function, so that you can see what text should be in the post without it doing its action.Onelife wrote:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/II5JEIUE6J0?si=Pond-7Z7G0yf7SbL [...]
I didn’t understand directions for posting videos.
You can type the line manually by using BB Code, like:
- Code:
[youtube]II5JEIUE6J0[/youtube]
where II5JEIUE6J0 is the YouTube [video serial number].
Preview or post will then show:
It works with any of the combinations of YouTube URLS,
- Code:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/[video serial number] - short YT video URL format.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[video serial number] - standard YT video URL format.
https://youtu.be/[video serial number] - abbreviated YT video URL format.
where in this case the [video serial number] is II5JEIUE6J0.
The desktop YouTube button in the menu bar is not fussy on what exact YouTube URL variation you use.
If you are using the cellphone ap, it is somewhat limited. If you are replying to a post, it does not make all menu options available. However, if you click as to quote someone, then the full menu above shows. Requires deleting the quote if you want do just answer. Sometimes, because I have been with this forum 10 years, have some of the BB Code functions memorized, so I just manual text them in.
I think in quoted reply, then the YouTube function is available in the menu bar, but I'd have to verify when with my cell.

OK, I see the problem. Using my cell, difference is when quoting and replying, the emogies are available. In a simple reply, the emogies are not available.Onelife wrote:Thanks again

Then for embedding video in post using cell, then one manually uses BB Code for YouTube.
Seems to run OK in a rich 4 cycle, good for stunt.Onelife wrote:Any comments on that engine ?

Re: Fox .35 Modifications
Onelife, I use an iPhone for pretty much everything these days…. Screenshot below shows the tool bar with YouTube button…. You can copy and paste the YouTube URL directly into that and your video’s thumbnail will be displayed in your post…..
Another thing I found when using a phone for video is to take the video in
landscape-horizontally….. It will fill the screen when presented rather than leave space at the sides…
The old Fox looks and sounds great!…. Ready for the 2/4 break!!…. I bought a new one in the early 80’s and flew a Sterling F-51 with it….. The other plane was S-2 Ringmaster with a Johnson.35…. Fun times!
