Cox Trike / Chopper Restoration - Speedometer Decal?
Hello all! I enjoy restoring the old Cox vehicles from my childhood and am currently working on the chopper. I have just about everything sorted except for one thing - the speedometer decal. Does anyone here sell a decal of the chopper speedometer?
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!

Thank you for the reply. The darn thing is so very small, maybe around 10mm. It is difficult to get a picture that would be useful. Also the one that I can take a picture of is still in the bezel so I cant scan it.

Any speedometer image will do? Send a photo of model on box. Bezel is a separate part from speedometer image as like as a metal ring?

You can see a pic of the speedometer in this auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175801502151
This is 'Merica and it's also from the 70s so I'm pretty sure it's in miles per hour... if the text on it was ever legible to begin with.

Re: Cox Trike / Chopper Restoration - Speedometer Decal?
Your amazing! Thank you so very much for spending your time to help me out. I cringe to even mention this, but the speedometer on the trike in my picture is actually shown correct side up. It's a very strange configuration with he open part of the horseshoe shape being the top and 10 mph in the upper right as the minimum speed position. Increments of 10mph. "MPH" is at the top and "COX" is right above the center of the needle. I should have mentioned all this previously. I had to use three sets of magnifiers to see it!
I just mention this for information in case you wish to make more at some point. I truly appreciate your helping me!

Hi ckalkhof,
Cox vehicles, are way under rated...
Every one I have seen go, ran great.
Including,
Side by side drag strip racing, Free Flight !
On a freshly paved parking lot, ~1970...
Great until you hit a curb !
Take care,
Have fun,
Dave

Just my luck. I purchased a copy of the manual on eBay the day before I stumbled across this site. I love the flow of information on this site. My only regret is that it took me so long to find this place.

Re: Cox Trike / Chopper Restoration - Speedometer Decal?
Levent, I thought you would like to see your work in the aluminum bezel I machined for it. This is just a test print done on my inkjet. My friend will print a few for me on his laser printer on decal paper for the final version. I'm restoring two trikes currently. One has the original spedo decal and bezel (bezel will be re-chromed). The other trike was missing the bezel, so I thought instead of making a mold and casting a repro, I would do something a little different and machine the part. You did a very nice job!
Also, I'm curious, has anyone actually seen a chopper II ? I've been around Cox vehicles for a very, very long time and don't think I have ever seen one come up for sale anywhere. I know there are two more common versions, the purple and the red but I have never seen a II as shown in the manual posted in this thread.

Those are beautiful ck.
My son's Chopper II as I remember was purple. I evidently kept the manual but tossed the Trike out when he went into the Navy. It was pretty beat. Pictures of your when you get the chance.

Ah, I see. OK. Then I am familiar with it. Looking at the manual in this thread, the chopper looks very different and has different parts. The heatsink, body and roll bar are all different than the purple and red ones I am familiar with.
