New Tool ! Magnetic Tool Holder from Matco !!
I just got this tool holder from my Matco Tool Guy! Our sheet-metal guru at the airport uses one on his flip-top tool chest, and uses it to keep his most-often used hardware at front and center.
I don't know if this sucker is a Rare-Earth magnet, but it apparently THINKS it is! It'll hold everything from truck wrenches to micro drill bits. I'll eventually take it out of the drawer, and mount it on a vertical plate at the back of the workspace.

Kim, that's very interesting as I've been looking for something like this. When flying combat, it's a race against the clock in speed limit. You don't want to hit the ground for instance which can result in taking out a plug. I now have a amp meter which immediately tells me the plug is good or bad and the last thing I want to do is fiddle in a pitbox for a glow plug. I want to mount a magnetic bar on the side of the box and use this for plugs, prop wrenches, etc. I also could place the prop nut and washer on it in the event of a prop change. I can't tell you how many prop nuts I lost in the grass. Lately, I started painting them day glo yellow and orange. Ken

Yup, they are handy. I use one for my big wrenches but quit putting my hobby stuff on there. Once the tool is left on there it magnetizes the tool, and then you set the tool down and all screws, tiny snap rings and such clamp onto it, which can be both good and bad.
But, PV to the rescue. A neat little gadget that both magnetizes and demagnetizes for the small tools. This came with my Wiha tool set during a combo sale.

Seems there was a kid's toy or science set that was being sold in Walmart or Toys-R-Us that had rare earth magnets for performing experiments. I'd intended to get one of these kits and epoxy the magnets into the sides or tops of my field boxes to hold wrenches and such, saving some drawer space, but kept forgetting to look for them while in town. Matter of fact...that's going on my shopping list for tomorrow!
