I have an unopened pint can of Cox Super Power fuel. I looked on eBay but couldn't find what it might sell for. Maybe it's worth only the value of the can, which can probably be made to look pretty untouched. Any ideas what it may be worth? Or rather what someone would pay for it?

If the fuel is discolored or black it is better to not risk running it.

No idea of the value. I have a couple Fox Super fuel cans that I should put on Ebay.

Due to it's age and potential to clog or damage fuel systems, IHO, any value would be in a nostalgia display case.

Why run the risk of using it? Nitro fuel, unlike fine wine, does not improve with age. DAMMIT!

I had a dozen full cans last summer and got $15.00 plus shipping for each can. The value was being still full. FYI a full can fits into a small flat rate box.

I haven't opened it to look at. If the seal hasn't been broken it probably only needs filtering if no water got into it. But I'm not going to open it. Maybe I'll list it. If I sell in on eBay for say $15, how much money do I have to pay eBay?

It was in a box of old 1/2A stuff a club member gave me. There were a bunch of new Norvel glow plugs, needles, and a venturi; spools of steel lines; a Golden Bee and all kinds of parts. The GB has a silver crankcase and a slit cylinder, so it's probably nothing great.

Between Ebay and Paypal you will pay around 14% off the top.

Aww just keep it! Why not just place it on a shelf, along with a few collector engines. $15 these days isn't worth it.

lol!

That's what I probably will do. Maybe my son can sell it when he's 56.

A factory sealed metal can of fuel can last decades. Only two real deterioration can happen to meth fuel: sunlight (UV) degradation of the nitro and water absorption in the alcohol. Keep it for the day you get the fellows in you club to do a C/L nostalgia day and break it open then to use. I was (like you) given an old can of Dukes fuel from 1980s. It ran fine in my .35 Enyas last summer despite being almost thirty years old

I would agree with Fred
My wife's dad gave me a steel can of cox fuel from god knows when a long time ago prob late 80's he thought opened it smelt fine ran lovely used it last summer in a factory sealed state so long as the can hasn't got any major Dents that might cause the lining to deteriorate it should be "winner winner chicken dinner"
If it has lasted this long
And the going rate is only $15 without charges I wouldn't bother over here I would probably only get 1/2 litre of new stuff for that price having said that it would be nice in my flight box to have a metal can rather than the plastic ones they come in these days
