I don't have a lathe but I was wondering would it be possible to turn .049 heads down to .010 sieve and if so would they fit well enough to run.
Thanks.

You could probably turn one out and make it fit. I would think it would have lower compression since the element hole is much larger then the element hole in a actual .010 head. Are you running out of spare .010 heads?

you would have to think about the element body and the ceramic insulator. like said above, the compression would be less then a normal 010 plug.

you would also have to consider, that you would have to cut a VERY precise thread, in order to make
a good seal. if the thread thickness (the ridges) doesn't match the inner thread of the cylinder,
there's a chance of pressure loss.i guess it could work, but i'd rather look around for some original heads, to
save myself any frustrating drawbacks, if they don't work. (thus wasting a perfectly good 049 head)
just my opinion.

Ok, I was just wondering I have enough .010 heads and Matt,Bernie and Reggie stock them as well as MECOA and several local and eBay sources.
Thanks.
