By the rockets red glare.........
Well, red nose cone anyway.
Complete at last, well almost except for one set of 50 calibers. Those rockets really clip on with effort. Just slide them all the way forward holding the airplane securely and they snap into place. With all that spring tension they should really fly off the wing.
Now to complete my second P-39, which needs plenty of help. Thanks to Kim and others, help though is on the way.
I have some replacement decals coming for it, but the vintage look of the originals appeals to me.

Beautiful Plane! Glad I saw the note...I'll be chucking some machine guns in the box. My stripped down " Racing Cobra" won't need them, though your may have to paint them...

Re: By the rockets red glare.........
I took the rockets off the model to lube and preserve the springs as they tend to rust. I found that the red tips just slide off, not good so I will have to glue them on before attempting to launch them into some enemy tank or bunker. .
But....should anyone out there be missing the tip , I found that the screw on cap on a container of 3in1 oil makes a good substitute either cut down or used as is.
The rockets "fire" by using a third line ran through a dedicated third hole in the wing tip along side the control line holes. There is a slot in each pylon that you feed the line through, pull the line and it releases the rocket. That's the theory anyway.
These launch rather easily, just drop the tail of the rocket a bit and off they go. Be careful out there, put your eye out Red Ryder.
