Cosmic Wind. I think this one was known as the "Silver Wind". Does it actually say Cox on the bottom? Testors made them from the same/similar moulds.

It's probably a Testors as the Cox Cosmic Wind canopies we have for sale are different. We received a big box full of Testors airplane parts lol.

This will give a rough idea.  A set of decals would be great, as would new undercarriage.  Testors also did a "Speed & Stunt" kit.

Yeah, I always wanted a PT-19 but Mum & Dad couldn't affort one, so I got the Testors for Christmas. I guess I was probably around 12 so that's 1974/1975.
I probably had lots more fun flying my larger balsa models to come later, but even though it would only go round & round barely maintaining altitude, I still loved it because it looked cool, and I didn't rip the tissue off the wings every time I landed in the long grass.

Yep, the Testors Cosmic Wind in question is the larger earlier version (early 70's) and one pictured in box was the smaller, later model, late 70's. Cox somehow got the molds and sold the same plane in the mid eighties with their Surestart engine.

Thanks for the info Mark! I have the red Cox Cosmic Wind. The fuse mold(s) must have had slight mods to fit the horseshoe back-plate mount/needle-hole. There's a sizeable piece of molded-lead held by a screw in the underside of the nose. Did Cox rework/add the fuel tank arrangement?

I had slight warps on both trailing-edges.. so I tried clamping with braces. One side is nice and straight now.. but the other still has a little warp. I don't think I used any heat.. maybe I should try that.
