He lost the national harmonica competition to Steve from our band, twice.
He wasn't happy.
No, really, Juzzie's a very good musician, well worth our attention.

Blues harmonica gives me goosebumps all over...this setting in rural Down Under with the local audience , the miles long coal train and the chopper rider local heartthrob is very fitting..

Rod I would love to hear your band with Steve on harmonica...any youtube or similar site where you are seen?

Re: music vids.. some of your favorites
This is the only one there is which has any real harmonica stuff on it. Not our best work. Video was actually a kid's school project. The audio was from a live recording we did of a gig years ago. The accuracy and syncing of the video is pretty sketchy to say the least.

Re: music vids.. some of your favorites
No reason for excuses, Rod, excellent stuff, and your Steve is doing a very good harmonica job!!
I did not realize that you play in a band, like your namesake Roddie, CEF mate from Rhode Island! Which instrument are you playing?
I wish my parents had not bullied me into piano lessons at my early age, it was kind of counter productive, maybe I would have grown into a hobby musician...at least on harmonica?
Way to go, Rod..

I'm the one doing a very poor job of pretending to play the Tea-Chest bass. My normal instrument is a traditional electric bass, but for the sake of the video we thought we'd have some fun.

That is a great single string instrument, it really fits the style of this "manly" music made by friends having fun!

Wow, until now I thought this was the best harmonica solo ever, but now that I saw and heard Steve, I am not so sure
I have loved Bonnie ever since the first time I heard her, late ’80s I think. And her version of this song is my favourite.

Ha ha. The skill isn't in the playing, it's remembering which pocket that you've put the next harmonica in.
Steve has done this, using multiple key harps throughout the song. At one point he even had a "gun belt" made so that he could wear the whole range of harps on stage.
Bonnie Rait is absolutely one of the best women of rock.
