EX Models SPI Kuro
Started test runs on this engine last week.
Runs well, really sucks down fuel. Utube cut off the bottom of the vid, it was turning 19K. Not bad for 40$.

One of our most consistent engines, and glad you like it!
I would suggest not using a small tank if possible, because as other have said it eats fuel lol.

I cloned that thing, and never knew it. (see my avatar) Does it have a KB crank? If so, do you have any problems with it?
Re: EX Models SPI Kuro
Hi Micro, Happy Birthday! This engine does not have KB crank, I cant run anything fast enought to break stock crank anyway.

Thanks!
I got a bad one, it wobbles a lot - threads are off center. Once it nears peak RPM, it mostly smoothes out.

What I think of those cranks is best unsaid.

Re: EX Models SPI Kuro
I thought that I had a bad crank but found out that if the drive plate is on straight that there is enough play in the spinner and the threads on the screw to cause a wobble.A layer of tape or just readjusting the spinner can get ride of the wobble. The one thing that worries me about the Killer Bee crank is the relief right behind the knurled area where the drive washer goes. It seems a bit deep making that area suspect to breaking. Also a slight chamfer on nose of the knurled area would make installing a drive washer alot easier. Any wobble or vibration on the front of a motor is a sure killer of performance and leads to a shorter life span of the crank case and shaft. Don't forget to balance your props and check that the pitch is the same in each blade if you can. A rough landing that bends a prop blade can mess up the pitch of the blades .

Just turning it by hand, you can see the prop screw wobble. Tried numerous drive plates, prop screws, props, etc. Same effect.
When it gets back to the race, it gets a Bee crank. I have everything for a full blown Killer Bee .051, except a straight crank.

Re: EX Models SPI Kuro
The last motor I assembled had a wobble. With just the case ,crank , drive plate, prop and spinner/screw. I could rotate the spinner and remove the wobble. I picked up some 5-40 screws with a hex drive and found that there was a few thousanths difference in diameters. The tolerances on these spinners /screws / and threads are not very tight.

Re: EX Models SPI Kuro
Yes, we have had ongoing issues with those cranks. The good ones are good, but weeding the bad ones out has become somewhat of a tedious process.
If anyone has any issue with one bought from us, we will exchange it for a new on or a full refund.
