Glow plug adapter need more gaskets? Empty Glow plug adapter need more gaskets?

Cox threaded glow plug adapter for No.8 glow plugs has two fins instead of three fins on 325 glow head. This adapter require two or more head gaskets instead of one?

Well, threaded adapter for Cox engines do not need any extra gasket. I realized that the head shape and element cavity of threaded adapter with a OS No.8 glow plug are different from standard 325 glow head. So this changes the volume and lowers compression.

Yes, the compression ratio is usually lower than on the stock heads. Plus, the threads of the regular plug becomes a part of the combustion chamber and the power is usually well down from the OEM heads. If you have access to a lathe you can shave off a bit of material from the sealing surface of the head and gain some compression back. That plus sealing the threads of the regular plug with a silicon sealant can give you some of the power back, but never quite as much as with the OEM heads.
