My Buddy Roger Altizer from West Virginia brought this to Huntersville for me. He says he couldn't get it started. I bet I can. It's nicely built, but I haven't given it a proper preflight inspection yet. I did reduce the elevator throw by about 30 degrees.

Rusty, I've been flying the pattern with mine. Mine is the early version which uses the nylon motor mount. A real POS but until the plane meets terra firma, it's staying as is. Similar setup and it's a good flying plane. I found it to be a little sensitive in the wind. Small handle is the order of the day. I use my combat handle which I believe is 1 7/8" spacing as it gives me accurate shapes but any 1/2A handle will suffice for screwing around. The wing is very well designed which is why it flies so well. It's not true to the PDQ Baby Clown but an excellent design nonetheless. The Nelson head adds a nice touch.

Holy Smoley, that was 5 years ago! Time sure flys when we’re having fun. Nice job on the rebuild there Ron. What is it about checkerboard that makes a plane look so cool?

Yeah, 5 yrs. I haven’t flown it in over a yr though. Maybe it’s about time to knock the dust off. I am going to put a Medallion up front and use a conventional tank this go around. Should slow it down a little and make for quicker refueling. It is manageable with the TD, but I could probably make bettter shapes if it wasn’t so darn fast.

I'm looking forward to flying my baby Brodak Clown, probably at the church yard on 35' lines. I'll be sure and get the camera on it whenever I do. If it needs more go, I have a Medallion with a screw-in radial backplate mount that'll do the job. It will probably crank if I take the paint off the head. I already checked if its Bee can breath, and that looks okay.I also have a nice new Bee that Ron gave me some time ago. A Black Lynx, I think it's called.
Rusty

P.S. I got my right hand worked on yesterday, and the surgeon thinks I should get some useful feeling returning soon. It was a wild shot, but looks like I got lucky again.
