# 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
Just received a handful of new ones in case anyone is interested ($19.95). Shall also list them tomorrow.
Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
Are these NOS with the extra fin on top or the ones on ebay that were basically turned down 302 heads?

Hm.... interesting question...
Am volunteering at the Salvation Army this afternoon but will post a pic when I get back to the office later today and also compare to an OEM head from a SB Jr.
Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
Yeah, they are slightly different than the 302 we have here. Not sure if Cox made several versions or if they were milled down. If so, definitely not 325 but rather 302-1. They look quite old and have definitely ben stored a long time. The combustion chamber is also a bit different than our 302 in stock.
Guess we have to declare that they are milled down 302-1's if that is the case but still unsure what we have here. I guess they will work just as well for someone wanting a head for a pre-1956 engine?

Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
That's not to say that they were done by a 3rd party. My theory (just a theory I have no idea to be sure) is that they are later (60s/70s) Cox manufacture to supply support to those still using the old engines. So perhaps writing or calling Cox in search of small dia. head would yield one of those.
Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
I believe that the seller mentioned that he got these from a Cox employee; forgot whom he mentioned however.

Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
This was stated on the listing: I purchased these from the legendary Dale Kirn many years ago. They probably are OEM Cox but, as mentioned, later-year production. Perhaps our resident experts can chime in?
Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
Oh, you must've bought these: https://www.coxengineforum.com/t12152-ebay-nos-302-small-dia-glow-heads
Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
Correct, those are the ones we bought. Not sure how to list them but will probably go with "Later-production OEM Cox # 302 Small Thread Glow Head"
Re: # 302 (Small thread) Glow Heads
"Later-production OEM Cox # 302 Small Thread Glow Head" sounds good to me

That's a regular (larger-thread) head but definitely very early version.

Sacrilege.... Got a kick out of that 70's air though. Thanks for sharing Bernie, I got a kick out of it.
Getting my ducks in a row.
Space Bugs A & B, Thermal Hopper, Space Bug Jr. + Glow Head
Babe Bee etc all iterations. + Glow Head
I can't be as cavalier as that fellow though, it would pain me to open up those packages.

First version Cub .049 heads with glow plugs can be made to work (using extra copper gaskets) on small thread head Cox .049s.
