Propeller Help
Hi all again. I have a question regarding propeller choices that I could most definately use some help with. I am currently finishing up my Cox powered tether car and have mounted the engine already, my shiny Babe Bee. For a picture I put on a yellow safety tipped 5 x 3 prop and it looked great. Just a few minutes ago, I was looking at it and thought of something. The car in question is in a pusher configuration, with the engine facing backwards. I had my prop on in original configuration... As far as props go, I have a small mix of traditional propellers for the engine and a couple of left hand props in 6 x 2, but no pusher propellers. So, to run the car and engine, can I use my regular RH rotation prop put on the engine backwards, and then run backwards, or the same for the LH prop, on backwards, run opposite of normal? I am not looking for an all out speed machine, but just something fun to watch go in circles.

Re: Propeller Help
Yes.. you can do that Chancey. That's one of the joys of running a reed-valve engine. I would try a 5"d. x 3"p. right-hand prop configured as you stated; prop facing "forward".. except crank it over "clockwise" (looking from the back of the car..) because you're flipping the backside of the prop.. rather than the front. MAKE SURE you wear some EYE PROTECTION/SAFETY GLASSES.. because the prop-wash will be towards you.
Re: Propeller Help
Don't forget to position the fuel pick-up to the out side of the circle .

Re: Propeller Help
Thank you both for the help. I had not thought of the exhaust blowing right back at me, and yes, safety glasses will be worn. Also, it took me a second to figure out the pickup tube location, but then it hit me. The engine is backwards and so the tube WILL have to be re-oriented.
