Engines repaired

Engines repaired
Received today my reset tool and both pistons are now true. New gaskets also. Baby bee had a back and fwd crank play so I put a thrust washer between engine case and prop washer. The other engine I am not sure about the type has one only port in the cylinder and looks that it can run smoothly at low rpm. Since I found qtee quiet fast with the black widow I change it with this one to see what will happen

They look great! Nice and shiny! Better than new. One of these days I’m gonna start polishing mine up to look like that.

Looks nice and shiny. I did one myself, and although it is a fair amount of work, the pay-off is very rewarding!

Re: Engines repaired
Very nice plane. I have heard of and read lots of the Q-Tee plane, and have wanted to build one for a while but never have gotten around to it. It is on my bucket list, but I will admit the following..... I HATE cutting out wing ribs! Somehow they never come out nice, and I end up scrapping them. I am very jealous of those who can cut out nice wing ribs.

Run bolts through the holes and sand all the ribs in a stack. They come out uniform to each other. That’s for a straight wing, for tapered you have to work in doubles.

Re: Engines repaired
If you make a template from hard wood or plastic (I made one out of bakelite) then it's easy to use it as a guide and cut as meny as you like. You can find this model in a short kit form with all the parts laser cut. It's a nice flyer and you can tell that when the engine stops.
