Amazing bird sounds.

I know this is way off topic but I couldn't find a thread where it fitted, so I'm starting a new one.
While trying to identify a local bird call that my wife tried to describe, I became interested in a number of youtube clips, as you do!
I'm not sure if the amazing abilities of the Australian Lyrebird are well known in other parts of the world. This one obviously lived close to a construction site.
I have every confidence that this clip is genuine. Not only can the Lyrebird do other birds as well as the original, but its ability to mimic everyday sounds is incredible. I remember as a young fellow walking around the forests where I lived it was common to hear them doing chainsaw sounds, as there was lots of logging in the area.

That’s worth watching! Very Fun bird.
We had a parakeet, actually it was a Budgie, named Budgie. Had full run of the house after moulting and regrowing his flight feathers. I taught him a few typical phrases, but was most pleased when He would sing/whistle the tune from the movie Bridge over the river Kwai. I had recorded it on a small tape player and repeated it daily until at last he would follow along.
Yup, he was a great pirate!

You know...I had a blue Budgie at my birdfeeder last summer, when I lived out in the country. That was an odd incedental! I fear he didn't last long when the cold arrived.

This juvenile Coopers Hawk doesn’t make any noise, but he really wants to eat my quail. Every morning for the past few weeks I find him staring at my quail run. He can’t get in so he doesn’t bother me. This morning I decided to snap a photo.

If you mean the Lyrebird, it's definitely true. I've heard them for real. I find the one in the clip amazing because it has picked up some muttering that a tradesman has said. Can't work out what he says (might be just as well)NEW222 wrote:Wow. Now thats funny. Whether real or not, it is amazing.

AS I was reading your post Ron, a conservation officer
on the show "North Woods Law", rescued a Coopers hawk.
