My First Chopper in the fleet

OK I got this Sky Copter the other week CAUSE Bob got a Flying Saucer and i told him i was looking for a cheaper but flyer Cox Sky Chopper and Low a behold there was one on the Bay for the bid .. and i did and WON !! $ 61.00 and the $25 to get it to me ,, and not to bad considering i put a $100 max on it lol!

Torne box / instructions and ALOT of packing Thumbs Up

I have been googling over it some and my son is excited too , before i take it out and turn $91.00 loose into the horizon with the hope to do it again and again ! Here it is in its glory...

Hey! That’s a great looking Copter! Clear canopy, has the original gas tank. Looks to be unused? Give it plenty of “clear space” to fly or she’ll end up in a tree.

Keep an eye on that bubble canopy!

After repeated runs, engine vibration and hard thumps can wallow out the the holes and the pegs that hold the canopy. Back in the day, one of ours had a blade come loose at altitude, and it also flung away its canopy on the way down.

We found the loose blade, but the Skycopter flew as a "Convertible" the rest of its life!!! Very Happy

Happy that I had a small part in you getting one. Careful starting it, one just like it christened Mark in the hobby when he stuck his finger in there. That propeller is sharp!

Choose a nice calm day with lot's of space for your maiden.

Thanks Guys , i plan on just a half tank on the first run OR is this a bad idea because it may not go high enough to start the counterrotating for descent ? The neighbors front yard is about 2 acres may bee a good place and close to home if goes to the trees Small Cox Logo

Nice copter you got there. I would say try a half tank. Will still be a good run with it. Just fill it up half way and time it. From that you could use your judgement if it is enough to get you high enough or not I would think.
