Was looking for some help    on what a Pinch Off is and maybe a picture or two. I was told adding one would be would help in my new fuel line set up.

Fuel line Pinch Off? Empty Re: Fuel line Pinch Off?

Kevin, here's what I use. The key to quick successful runs is to make this easy. Most of my setups, I use the colored pinch offs I made in the picture. These are extremely light. I clip one on, I prime, flip, and pull it off. I use these the majority of the time. I also bent the wire style which I still use as well. This uses a engine bolt and I slide it into the U shape which pinches it, I prime, flip and with my holding hand, Iuse my thumb  and flip it out of the U. I can start a engine in less than 3 seconds with my method once set.

Achieving a close needle initially is the utmost importance. Once the bladder is full, bleed out the air. I do this by pointing the nose up and the venturi to the ground. This was you don't even have to worry about the crank window on the crankshaft, the fuel will go straight to the ground and not into the case. A surge of air will come out and some gurgling prior to the stream. You want to close the needle so that fuel is not pouring out but dripping. Watch the drops and space them approx 3/4" apart using the needle.

Pinch off the fuel line and your just about ready. Prime the cylinder and hook up the battery. Flip and burn off the prime you just placed. Once everything is cleared. Prime again, flip and once the engine is running, open the pinchers. If the engine goes too rich, close the pinchers slightly until you can close the needle. If the engine is too lean, the engine will surge back and forth revving up and then slowing down . If this happens, the needle needs to be opened. YOU CAN"T RUN A ENGINE TOO LEAN ON BLADDER so don't worry about that.  To achieve the proper setting on bladder is to lean the engine up. Quickly pinch the fuel line with your finger, if the engine wants to quit, the setting is too lean, if the engine speeds up, your just right. Keep leaning and pinching until the engine wants to quit and back it off a little and launch.

Fuel line Pinch Off? Dscn3057   This is the wire style I bent up, I don't care to have line clips hanging onto my fuel line.

These are my pinch off devices I made from basswood and a sewing bobbin in the center. I just use rubber bands. TO prevent the tubing from slipping out of the jaws, I glue some sandpaper on them
