SB-X stealth bomber pilots flight manual scans

Re: SB-X stealth bomber pilots flight manual scans
Interesting model, looks like the last of the Estes series Cox RTF's. Would be easy to clone in balsa, found one on E-Bay, photos give enough info that it could be cloned in balsa / foam:
E-Bay Item# 273597651477: Cox Stealth Bomber SB-X
E-Bay photo: SB-X top.
E-Bay photo: SB-X underside.
E-Bay photo: SB-X back.
E-Bay photo: SB-X box side illustrating rudder and wheels, cropped and straightened.

Re: SB-X stealth bomber pilots flight manual scans
Thanks for sharing this outer space conflict series variant, @cmulder. I thought I had seen it before, but couldn't place it. It is interesting how Cox toward its latter days before the Estes buy out attempted to garner further sales by rebranding the model as the XB-S Stealth. At first I thought it was an Estes product, until I saw the Santa Ana, CA address on it and the 1987 copyright date in your instructions photo. I'm guessing that the SB-X must have come out shortly after the 1991 Gulf War, when the F-117 Nightingale stealth was used extensively in Iraq.
Nonetheless, I like the styling of the model. Given the info thus far, the top, bottom, side and rear views, one could easily clone this model in balsa, foamboard or a combination of the two, yet have a realistic C/L model to play with. Upsize it and go with a larger engine or even make an R/C version of it.
Possibilities are endless for an unusual but eye catching model that is lesser seen these days.

Re: SB-X stealth bomber pilots flight manual scans
Let me see what I can do.
I have a few of these big manuals that I need to take somewhere like the UPS Store that has a large format scanner. I could flatten them out under a piece of plate glass and try to take a picture of them through that. I did that with some pullout schematics out of some service manuals before.

Recreating this in balsa should not be to complicated but there are a few details to keep in mind.
The cg is quite forewards and there are weights in those "nose cones" ahead of the canards.
There is "reflex" at the rear like common on flying wings and some delta models.
Besides that some 3mm balsa sheet and lightweight tubes is most what you need.
