Re: World Enviroment day
Be careful Bob! I've had my share of close calls when trimming our trees.
Later today, I'm going down to the park to pick up a redbud tree that we "won" from the city who is doing a giveaway. We're thinking about putting it in the backyard where a birch tree was taken down several years ago. I also now have a large maple that suddenly died. It must not have survived the major drought we had two years ago. It leafed out about half way last year then dropped most of those leaves by late August. Was a full healthy tree in the years before.

I only have native Mesquite trees in the yard and generally don’t get tall enough to do and fall damage… But they have thorns to stick you if not careful!
Careful on your tree work Bob! But I know the scrape will not stop you
Like that cabin in the woods

RSV Bob,
Please keep as much of your blood on the INSIDE as you can.
after a while, we should not be letting it out
hopes for a speedy healing, and good tree-trimming.

Cabin (1950) predates the house (2007) by quite a bit. We light it up at Christmas and the family plays pool in there. Stereo and a wood stove makes it cozy. Daughters and son live close by. Moved here from Florida in 2010 to be closer to the kids. I found it by looking on the internet.

Cleaning up dead branches on a pine tree with the pole saw fully extended the falling branch got me right on the wrist despite my best efforts trying to get out of the way. A little gauze, a little bacitracin and painters tape and I'm back in business.
Glad you're ok Bob. The environment here has been trying to kill me for the last six months. It's finally warming up enough so I can go outside without freezing to death. Got up to 48f today.

I hear you TL, in the forties here each morning and In June I'm still running heat.
Took the bandage off yesterday, the gauze had grown into the wound and I had to use warm water to release it. Painful, but I think back to when at four I was run over by a car and lost all the skin off the back of my right leg and some off my back in July of 1941. This is just a scratch in comparison. Wonder if the Doc's put me to sleep while changing the bandages. Broke my shoulder too.
Healing well.
This is just a scratch, but it caught me right on the wrists knuckle bone. Ever hit your elbow's "funny bone."
